On the sidelines of a visit by Rwanda President Paul Kagame to India, where he attended the 8th Gujarat Summit, pen was put to paper to seal the deal on a new air service agreement. This paves the way for RwandAir to embark in earnest on launching flights to Mumbai, which is expected to be in Quarter 2 of this year, perhaps as early as April.

The airline also confirmed that flights to Harare, Zimbabwe, are now launching in April this year, not as earlier expected in January. The new destination will be served in conjunction with Zambia’s Lusaka while at that stage flights to South Africa will revert to nonstop services. Lilongwe, Bamako, and Conakry are also on the drawing board for more African destinations during 2017, as are London and later in the year, New York.
